Night curtain can be classified as dimout or blackout fabric.
Usually, we are more concerned about the degree of light penetration that the fabrics allow into the room.
This is because some of us are light sensitive while others would want to have more light entering the house.
WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN DIMOUT AND BLACKOUT FABRICS?
DIMOUT:
Dimout fabrics allow certain percentage of light to penetrate the room as the fabrics are not coated to block out light completely.
The percentage of light entering ranges from 5% to around 65% light penetration.
BLACKOUT:
Blackout fabrics are simply 100% blockage of light entering and escaping the room.
Most importantly, due to the nature of blackout fabrics, they serve to effectively reduce heat entering the room, resulting in better cost-savings for electricity.
It can also reduce the light reflection that affects our customers whilst they are watching television in the afternoon.
SEWING:
Both dimout and blackout fabrics can be sewn in different ways too.
The 2 most commonly used sewing methods are the same as the day curtains which are Double Pleated as well as Eyelet sewing.
